Join the San Diego Audubon Society and the Raptor Institute for a unique presentation. This event will include a talk and bird presentation followed by a Naturalist Guided Walk into a nearby canyon. Don’t forget to grab your hat, sunscreen, water and sturdy walking shoes.

Bring the whole family out for a day of celebration. Learn about the traditions of Southern California’s Native Americans in one of San Diego’s best kept secrets, Tecolote Canyon and Nature Center! The 18 annual Baskets and Botany event will include live birds of prey, sand painting, children’s craft area,  learn about Indian Fry Bread and how hand woven baskets are made.

In this workshop we explore the beauty, mysteries and facts about our planet Earth. Using tools and materials from the world around us we will re-enact some of the physics, chemistry and biology that make Earth unique in the Known Space. Workshops will focus on aspects of Earth including glaciers, volcanoes, earthquakes, landslides, permafrost, sea level rise and tsunamis. During these workshops students will design, test, throw and stomp on things. Using our newfound knowledge of our Earth system we will use our imaginations to make our planet a more fun place.
