2017 Annual Fundraiser

When: Saturday, May 6, 2017 – 6pm
What: Uncorking the Mysteries of Wine, the Fleet Science Center’s 2017 fundraiser. Part Wine Auction, part Wine Games and part Wine Dinner!
Reception and Auction – 200+ guests will begin the evening with palate-tempting samplings and delicious wines curated by well-known local wine expert and owner of the WineSellar & Brasserie, Gary Parker. Those who enjoy wine-related activities will be able to bid on a variety of impressive wine lots, travel and dining packages and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The competitive can try their hand at the Wine Ring Toss, while the curious can increase their wine knowledge.
Dinner – The reception will be followed by a seated dinner featuring world-class wines paired with a sumptuous multi-course dinner prepared by San Diego’s world-renown culinary guru Andrew Spurgin. He has cooked for three presidents, Martha Stewart and at the James Beard House in New York.
The evening will culminate with a new Fleet video that brings the focus back to the Science Center’s mission and highlights the Center’s positive impact in our local communities.
Where: FLEET SCIENCE CENTER, BALBOA PARK
Why: This fundraiser will directly support the Fleet Science Center’s education programs, exhibits and ongoing initiatives. Together, we work to create a San Diego where every child can access and be inspired by the wonder of science, develop their skills and talents in a dynamic learning environment and live in a community rich in the science experiences that build and support their and the region’s scientific identity.
