NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory offers monthly lectures on fascinating topics. And you don't have to drive to Pasadena to enjoy them! The lectures are live-streamed so that you can watch them from home on your electronic device. Visit their web page to see what topics are coming up. High Tech Fair is experimenting with a new feature this year called “Tech Talks.” Modeled after the popular TED Talks, Tech Talks give a presenter 10 minutes to present the technology they use on a daily basis in an engaging and innovative way.

The Fleet Science Center's annual High Tech Fair enlightens middle and high school students to the world of science and the possibilities of a scientific career. Local participating companies provide interactive experiences for the students, and students enjoy seeing "real life" applications of what they may be learning in the classroom. Two of the participating companies, Solar Turbines and ViaSat, sat down with local high school students to discuss what attendees can expect to learn at the event. Here’s what we learned!
