¡Toca y aprende ciencias jugando en el Reuben H. Fleet Science Center! Con más de 400,000 visitantes al año, el Fleet es una de las atracciones más populares de San Diego. Ven a explorar nuestras ocho galerías de exhibiciones interactivas con más de 100 exhibiciones que fascinarán a personas de todas las edades. Nuestra colección permanente incluye un tornado que puedes tocar, un plato giratorio que te permite explorar los movimientos de varios discos giratorios y conocer la interacción física que presentan, además de un estudio de experimentos llamado “Tinkering” donde puedes crear, inventar y explorar. El Fleet también alberga regularmente exposiciones itinerantes, que ponen especial atención en diferentes temas científicos.
El Fleet es sede de la única Megapantalla IMAX en el sur de California. La sala de proyección Eugene Heikoff and Marilyn Jacobs Heikoff Dome Theater tiene la peculiaridad de ser un domo inclinado de 76 pies con una pantalla NanoSeamTM que sumerge al público en imágenes espectaculares. Un sistema de sonido envolvente surround de 16,000 vatios amplifica el audio de las proyecciones que se presentan como nunca antes. El teatro está diseñado para usar tanto un proyector IMAX® como un sistema de proyección digital GSX™, y proyecta películas IMAX y producciones de planetario. La Megapantalla digital Heikoff Giant Dome Theater ofrece también el sistema Rear Window de subtitulación, auxiliares auditivos y audífonos que permiten a los visitantes escuchar el audio en español cuando lo hay.
El Reuben H. Fleet Science Center está en el hermoso Balboa Park, dos cuadras al sur del San Diego Zoo sobre Park Boulevard. Hay estacionamiento gratuito justo detrás del Science Center. Summer Volunteers Wanted
Help make science fun by volunteering at the Fleet this summer with our Summer Camp, Museum Ambassador or Gallery Facilitator programs. Spend 60 hours over the summer with us; we’ll provide training, a t-shirt and community service letters. These positions are great for high school or college students on summer break.
