The Barrio Logan Youth Science Team proudly leads the effort to create access to meaningful and relevant STEM experiences and opportunites!

The Association of Women in Science invites young girls to channel their inner scientist in this interactive workshop about DNA manipulation. This hands-on event will include activities, DNA extraction, learning about cutting DNA with nucleases (restriction enzymes, Cas9,) pipetting and using electrophoresis to sort DNA by size. Sound complicated? Not to worry, we will make the learning fun! Sign up at the Logan Heights Library.

In this class, you will act as a marine biologist as you discover the secrets of how octopuses change color and how oysters make pearls. Finish the class by creating artwork inspired by your underwater exploration.
