STEM LECTURE SERIES: UTILITY AND TRUTH IN MODEL DESIGN

Thursday, May 10, 2018
7:30–9 p.m.
San Diego Mesa College
MS Building

Join Mesa College physics professor Claude Mona for a fascinating look at how scientists interpret evidence-based constructs. The goal of science, argues Professor Mona, is not necessarily discovering the truth, but finding utility in what is discovered.

Lectures are held in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MS) building, which is located in the west-central portion of the Mesa College campus. View a campus map here.

As parking can often be a challenge, we urge you to consider taking using Uber or Lyft. Please note that non-students may park in any parking lot except for lots 7–10, provided that the spot isn’t designated as faculty/staff. There is a cash-only parking machine in each lot. While the fee to park is $5 per day, there is no cost to attend the lecture.

Community members are also encouraged to download the MobileNOW! parking app from the Google Play Store, available for both iPhone and Android phones. Users can pay with a credit or debit card, right from their phones. If you download the app, the location number for Mesa College is 2000.
