Pop-Culture Science—The Social Science of Get Out

The Fleet Science Center invites you to Pop-Culture Science, a the new program series in collaboration with and the Comic-Con Museum. The event series explore the science behind everything we love about pop culture—from films and TV shows, to comic books and toys, to fandom and more!

Join us on Friday, March 13 for a good scare as we watch Get Out. Before the movie, we’ll hear from Dr. Phillip Serrato from SDSU as he uses Get Out as an example to explain why some horror movies scare us so deeply, why some people seek out horror films and how horror films offer audiences new types of knowledge that can prove disturbing or downright scary.

Date: Friday, March 13
Time: 7 to 9:30 p.m.
Location: Comic-Con Museum, 2131 Pan American Plaza, San Diego, CA 92101
Tickets: $5 (plus fee) online and $6 at the door
The Fleet is excited to partner with San Diego's Comic-Con Museum on the Pop-Culture Science series. Stay tuned as we work on future events!
